Free Java EE 5, Patterns and Architectures Event (JUGM/NUG) in Munich
At 24.1.2008, 6:00 PM in Munich there will be a free event organized by the Java User Group Munich / Netbeans User Group with a session with the title "Lightweight Java EE 5/6 architectures with EJB 3.X, JPA 1,X and JSF". The end is probably open :-). However I will show some architectural ideas (from p4j5) and benefits of domain driven, as well as service oriented approach to built applications with nothing but Java EE 5 without overhead. During the talk I will show lot of code and hack some simple applications. Because of lack of time, I will use the Netbeans 6.0 / Glasfish 2.0 combination for development and deployment.
I'm really looking forward for critical question about Java EE 5/6. The most critical questions will be rewarded with a t-shirt :-).
This event was organized in a very agile way. I met Anton Epple (the NUG leader) at the Sun Tech Days in Frankfurt. We hacked the abstract at the java.net community corner...
Does this presentation make sense if one has little to no knowledge of Java EE (apart from Servlets)? I am familiar with many of its concepts though, such as dependency injection etc.

Absolutely. I will explain everything from scratch - just ask a question - and get a T-Shirt.
