Something real for virtual machine geeks is available - the "Java Difference"

I'm wating for about one year for the availility of  the Sun's SPOT (Small Programmable Object Technology) widget and development environment. Now it is available, but only for US-developers. I'm living in germany, so it is still a problem to get one for me.
SPOT is a device with sensors (accelaration, temparature), input, outputs and networking capability and very tiny VM. I hope it will be available also at JavaONE.
This is probably the coolest gadget since the Java Ring. Such things are the "Java-Difference".

Web Apps, SPA, PWA with vanilla Java Script (ES 6+), CSS 3 and WebStandards only. As simple as possible, but not simpler. See you at: (Progressive) Web apps, Single Page Apps and WebStandards airhacks workshops at MUC airport, Winter Edition

Well, let's hope it's not too much like the java ring since that was never really going anywhere....
