Web 3.5 Arrival or Applets Rocks With Java 6 Update 10 - an 3D, AJAX, Applet Hybrid

I just tested some "old" applets with Firefox 3.0 and JDK 1.6 u10 (on Vista) - and I'm really impressed. I tested the Iris applet again - 3D photo viewing (3 D slideshow), editing, managing, application. It works smoothly, the initialization is relatively fast (about 20 seconds). Iris is a HTML, Ajax, Applet hybrid with remarkable capabilities (drag and drop from desktop, file upload). After start, just use a flickr name like "romainguy". I heard about some problems on Macs (NoClassDefFoundError) with this application - but who cares about it :-).

Hi Daniel,

"Bye the way, where's your feedback considering your last workshop in munich"

What do you mean? From my perspective it was good. We built in 3 days, from scratch an Enterprise Hooligan Management (or shortly EHM - because of soccers) system with JPA, EJB 3, JSF, Data Binding and different pattern styles. We started (of course), from the very scratch.

Thanks! Does it run on your mac? If not, try it in VMWare :-),

regards,

adam
