I think this only reflect how much time it took java projects to migrate to github, since java users already had places for hosting like codhaus, google projects, sourceforge, kenai which they used to prefer.

I think it had more to do with the rise of Android programming, but that's me. I didnt notice until now that Ruby took a fall for Java and Javascript's rise. huh. Perl, C+Obj C, and Python all fell too (Python the least, but still did)
